About David B. Brothers
Dr. Brothers was born in New York City and raised in New Jersey and South Florida. He received his undergraduate degree from Emory University and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with honors in organic chemistry research. He received his medical degree from the University Of Miami School Of Medicine where he was elected to the AOA national medical honor society. Dr. Brothers completed his internship at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, under Dr. Michael E. DeBakey. He then completed his residency in general surgery and trauma at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital Medical Center. While a resident, he received multiple awards for his work on both trauma and burn victims and was trained and certified in microneural and microvascular surgery. His training in plastic and reconstructive surgery was at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He was then accepted for additional specialty training in cosmetic surgery with one of the most prominent and internationally respected cosmetic surgeons at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida. Dr. Brothers is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is the founder of the Plastic Surgery Centre of Atlanta, P.C. and has served as the chief of plastic surgery at Saint Joseph’s Hospital of Atlanta, Northside Hospital and Perimeter Surgery Center of Atlanta. He also served as the secretary of the Georgia Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Brothers is very well published in the field of reconstructive and cosmetic surgery and is a frequent guest lecturer.
