About Darrell Brooks
Dr. Darrell Brooks, Md journey to Northern California began when I arrived in Palo Alto for my undergraduate education at Stanford University. I continued in Palo Alto for medical training, first at the Stanford University School of Medicine, and then at the Affiliated Stanford Hospitals for combined residencies in general and plastic surgery. A desire for additional training took me north to San Francisco, where I completed advanced work at the Buncke Clinic/University of California San Francisco Hand and Microsurgery Fellowships. For over a decade after fellowship, I was an attending surgeon and director of research at the Buncke Clinic in San Francisco, where I was exposed to some of the most challenging cases of reconstruction after trauma, cancer resection, and children born with congenital abnormality. While at the Buncke Clinic, I held associate clinical faculty appointments in the Departments of Plastic Surgery at the University of California at San Francisco, University of California at Davis and Stanford University, where I had the opportunity, and privilege, to train residents from those institutions, as well as others, from around the globe, in the most basic to the most esoteric applications of plastic surgery. Most recently, I practiced privately at the California Pacific Medical Center Hospitals. There, I am proud to have worked to develop the pediatric microsurgical program at the Woman and Children’s campus. My journey has now brought me south to Kaiser Permanente, San Jose, Ca.
