About Christopher P. Schmidt, MD
Dr. Christopher Schmidt received his medical degree from Georgetown University and went on to complete a dermatology residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital where he also served as Chief Resident. Dr. Schmidt obtained a bachelor of science degree in biology from Loyola Marymount University. Dr. Schmidt spent the first 10 years of his medical career in the U.S. Navy. He graduated from the Undersea Medical Officer program in Groton, CT and carried out his duties as a submarine and diving medical officer in San Diego, CA. After completing his dermatology training he became a staff dermatologist at the Naval Medical Clinic, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Since beginning his private practice, Dr. Schmidt has been active on Stanford’s clinical faculty. He teaches dermatology residents at Santa Clara County Valley Medical Center and for over 10 years he has volunteered at Juvenile Hall, making sure the young people there receive expert dermatological care. He also teaches dermatology in the Stanford Family Medicine Residency at O’Connor Hospital. Dr. Schmidt is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He is on the medical staff of Good Samaritan Hospital and the Santa Clara County Valley Medical Center. When Dr. Schmidt is not caring for patients, he can be found spending time with his family or stalking fish with his fly rod.
