About Cheryl Kosarek, MD
Cheryl Kosarek, MD is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Prior to joining Westlake Dermatology, she was in private solo practice for 30 years, with the majority of that experience in El Paso, Texas. Dr. Kosarek is a native Texan, who received her BA in Biochemistry at UT Austin, and completed medical school at McGovern Medical School at the UT Health Science Center at Houston. She then left Texas to spend a year at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island for an internship in Internal Medicine, followed by moving to Minneapolis, Minnesota to complete her dermatology residency at University of Minnesota. Before starting a solo private practice in Perrysburg, Ohio, Dr. Kosarek had the opportunity to work as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Dermatology at Medical College of Ohio. Dr. Kosarek enjoys both medical and cosmetic dermatology, and treats patients of all ages. During her dermatology career, she has had the opportunity to appreciate and put into practice the many ongoing advances in treatments and technologies of this field of medicine. Dr. Kosarek attends meetings to continue learning new dermatologic treatments, and training seminars for the growing number of dermal fillers, neurotoxins, laser and light therapies, skincare, and other forms of skin rejuvenation and anti-aging options. Lake Austin has always been a special place for Dr. Kosarek, enjoying water sports and other family activities centered around the lake. She has a passion for travel, cherishes the time with her three grown children, and enjoys reading, hiking, and cooking. Dr. Kosarek is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Texas Medical Association, and the Texas Dermatological Society.
