About Charles Herman
Dr. Charles K. Herman is a seasoned senior medical executive, Board-certified plastic surgeon, entrepreneur, and award-winning researcher and author. An active academician as well as clinical surgeon, he is the editor of four major medical textbooks, and on the faculty of two medical schools. Well-versed in the business of healthcare, Dr. Herman serves in a senior medical executive role in Northeastern Pennsylvania's largest health system and has served as Chair of its Foundation Board and Secretary of its Management Board, has served as Chief Consulting Editor at one of the world's largest medical publishing companies, and has served as a consultant and advisor to several national and international private equity, venture capital, medical consulting and management companies, being involved in all phases of several biotechnology and medical device startups' life cycles, from the the lab bench, through clinical trials, with business development, and on go-to-market strategy. Working with Rebuilding America’s Warriors and his health system, he founded one the nation’s first philanthropic programs dedicated to reconstructive surgery for injured American soldiers. Dr. Herman’s facial reconstructive surgery of Sergeant Tim Juliano, who was injured while serving in Iraq, received international attention and was an hour-long feature on the Discovery Channel and The Learning Channel’s popular show American Chopper. He graduated at the top of his class as a Palmer Scholar with an MBA with Honors at The Wharton School of Business.
