About Brittany D. Carter-Snell, DO
Dr. Brittany Carter-Snell, is a board-certified physician in both dermatology and internal medicine. As a native Detroiter, she is excited to have returned home to serve her community through the Carter Snell Skin Center (CSSC). As one of few dermatologists in the metro area fully trained in internal medicine, Dr. Carter-Snell’s unique approach to patient care focuses on evaluating the person as a whole, ensuring inner health, while caring for the largest organ of the body – the skin. Dr. Carter-Snell received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and her medical doctorate from Michigan State University. While in medical school she received high honors, was inducted into the honors fraternity Sigma Sigma Phi, and recognized with the Judith K. Weiswasser Memorial Award, given to the woman graduate deemed to be outstanding academically, professionally, and personally. She went on to complete a combined internal medicine-dermatology residency through Ohio University and excelled in both specialties. Dr. Carter-Snell was the recipient of the Arnold P. Gold Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award for internal medicine. She was first place winner for outstanding participation in the National Medical Association John A. Kenney, Jr. M.D. Resident Research Synposium for dermatology. Her leadership skills and clinical performance earned her the honor of serving as dermatology Chief Resident. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Osteopathic Dermatology, Women’s Dermatological Society, Skin of Color Society, National Medical Association, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.. Dr. Brittany Carter-Snell resides in Detroit, MI with her husband Dr. Jamey Snell and daughter Genevieve. Outside the office, she enjoys running, traveling, and spending quality time with loved ones.
