About Brice McKane
Brice W. McKane, M.D., F.A.C.S was one of the top-ranked graduates of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He received his medical degree in 1998, and then trained in general surgery at the esteemed Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine. During his training, he served as a research fellow for the Department of Surgery and published several articles in peer reviewed journals. Dr. McKane then completed his training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. McKane first became interested in Plastic Surgery after experiencing what it is to be a patient with reconstructive needs. While hiking in Big Bend National Park he was involved in a severe accident and sustained multiple facial fractures. Dr. McKane underwent a reconstructive procedure that restored his face, which was a life-changing event for him. This experience taught him valuable lessons about what it is to be a patient; Dr. McKane carries these lessons with him into the care of his own patients.
