Professional Statement

Dr. Brian Hwang attended Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA for his undergraduate degree, on a music scholarship for violin. It was there that he first realized his interests in both art and science, and he would discover much later that the balance of science and artistry would continue to be the driving force for his interest in Plastic Surgery to this day. After moving to Chicago to attend Chicago Medical School, Dr. Brian Hwang then completed a full 7-year residency in General Surgery, which included dedicated research in plastic and reconstructive surgery. This time in research led to multiple publications and presentations at national meetings. Dr. Brian Hwang then achieved admission into a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship program at the prestigious Duke University Medical Center. Duke has consistently been ranked as one of the top 10 medical centers in the nation. He was privileged to be trained by leaders in plastic surgery as well as work alongside top-notch colleagues. The wide range of pathology from a diverse patient population allowed Dr. Brian Hwang to finish with a solid foundation in aesthetic and reconstructive surgical principles, operating the entire spectrum of plastic surgery. It was his keen attention to detail and passion for aesthetic surgery that led him to further expand his skills with top aesthetic surgeons here at Beverly Hills Physicians.
