About Benjamin T. Lemelman, MD
Benjamin T. Lemelman, MD, is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with an expertise in cancer reconstruction, correction of craniofacial differences for children and adults, and aesthetic surgery of the face and body. He earned a Bachelor of Science summa cum laude from the University of Miami and was selected to the Medical Scholars Program, an accelerated program in medicine. He completed his studies at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine with an emphasis on Ethics and Humanities. After medical school, he was accepted to the Integrated Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency Program at the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident. He completed Fellowship in Craniofacial Surgery and Pediatric Plastic Surgery at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, the Ohio State University, one of the largest centers in the country. He lives in the South Loop with his wife, Dr. Michelle Lemelman, a Pediatric Endocrinologist at the University of Chicago, and their two daughters, Hannah and Abby.
