About Barton J. Sterling, MD
Dr. Bart Sterling is a Diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology. He is a member of numerous professional societies including the American Academy of Dermatology, the American College of Mohs Surgery, the International Peeling Society, and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Sterling has published numerous articles in medical and surgical journals and books. Dr. Sterling has lectured at state and national dermatology meetings. Dr. Sterling received his medical degree from Rutgers – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, in New Brunswick, New Jersey in 2000. After medical school, he completed three years of dermatology residency and internship at St. Vincent’s Hospital/New York Medical College in New York City. Dr. Sterling then finished an additional year of residency training in Baltimore, serving as the Chief Dermatology Resident at the University of Maryland Medical Center and the Baltimore Veterans Affairs Hospital. Dr. Sterling then completed a prestigious one year fellowship in Procedural Dermatology and Mohs Micrographic Surgery at the Laser and Skin Surgery Center of Indiana/St. Vincent’s Hospital. Dr. Sterling was born in Camden, New Jersey. Before attending medical school, he was a newspaper reporter for the Asbury Park Press. Always drawn to the Jersey Shore, Dr. Sterling established his practice in Spring Lake in 2005. His experience and reputation have contributed to a very successful practice. He is a proud father and the husband of Florentina Sterling, whom he met in Belmar. Today their expanding family resides in Spring Lake. Dr. Sterling is an elected member of the Spring Lake Board of Education.
