About Asaad H. Samra, MD
Dr. Asaad H. Samra, a native of New Jersey, received his Bachelors of Arts in Biology in 1997 from the highly prestigious Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. He then returned to NJ where he obtained his medical degree in 2001 from the prominent UMDNJ – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Upon graduating, he went on to train in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine’s world renowned integrated residency program located in the largest medical center in the world, The Texas Medical Center. While there, Dr. A. Samra obtained extensive experience operating with some of the nation’s top surgeons in some of the country’s finest institutions including The Methodist Hospital, Texas Children’s Hospital and MD Anderson Cancer Center. In addition to his clinical experience, he has also conducted research and has given many presentations on a variety of topics ranging from cosmetic (surgical and non-surgical) treatments to extensive reconstructive surgery. Dr. A. Samra has a special interest in aesthetic surgery, breast surgery, as well as hand and post-traumatic reconstruction. Board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery since 2008, he has been chosen as a Top Doctor in Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery by the Consumer Research Council of America for 2011-2013. Furthermore, Dr. A. Samra has been the Medical Director for The Center for Wound Healing in Bayshore Hospital since 2008 and has led that team to receive two Center of Distinction awards. Most recently, he has been appointed as Chief of Surgery of Bayshore Hospital, in addition to being a Trustee of the Bayshore Foundation. Born and raised in New Jersey, Dr. Asaad H. Samra is delighted to be practicing in his home state.
