About Antonio J. Gayoso, MD
Caring. Compassionate. Kind. Just a few words to describe how patients feel about Dr. Gayoso. Dr. Gayoso is a native Floridian, born in Gainesville, Florida. He completed his undergraduate education at Duke University and the University of Florida. His medical degree was completed at the University of Miami, in Miami, Florida and his surgical training was completed at the Medical University of South Carolina, both in general surgery and plastic surgery. Dr. Gayoso is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is an active member of The American Society of Plastic Surgeons and The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Dr. Gayoso was Chief of Plastic Surgery at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg 2005 thru 2018 and in December 2019, he was reappointed as Chief of Plastic Surgery at Bayfront Health St Petersburg. He was Chief of Plastic Surgery at St. Anthony’s Hospital from 2004 thru 2018. He is a member of The Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons and is a past president of the Tampa Bay Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Gayoso established his plastic surgery practice in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1998. He has participated in Faith In Practice, an international goodwill mission providing plastic and reconstructive surgical care in Guatemala and spent many years providing breast reconstructive surgery for breast cancer patients. He has been on the Local Board for the American Cancer Society and participates in My Hope Chest, a local charitable organization that provides breast reconstructive surgery for women without health insurance. Dr. Gayoso’s expertise includes cosmetic breast surgery and reconstructive breast surgery, cosmetic facial plastic surgery and non-surgical facial rejuvenation and body contouring. He incorporates good judgment, experience, advanced techniques and artistic vision with the belief that subtle, progressive rejuvenation and compassionate patient care will create beautiful results and satisfied patients. St Petersburg cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Gayoso also enjoys using his skill to help patients with even the most complex plastic surgery needs. He derives great satisfaction from the restoration of form and function after illness and injury. Dr. Gayoso enjoys cycling, running, and triathlons. He loves attending soccer games, swim meets and piano recitals with his wife, Jodie and their sons, Antonio Jr., and Samuel.
