About Amy Y. Chen, MD
Dr. Chen obtained her bachelor degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA. She received her medical degree with distinction in biomedical research from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI. After finishing a clinical trial fellowship in the Department of Dermatology at Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, OH, she went on to complete dermatology residency there, where she also served as chief resident. Dr. Chen served as a sub-investigator in many cutting-edge clinical studies for skin diseases during her clinical trial fellowship year, where her interests in the development of novel skin therapies were fostered. Dr. Chen is interested in a broad range of skin diseases as well as overall skin health. She sees both adult and pediatric patients. She has published widely in both peer-reviewed journals as well as textbooks, and also serves as ad hoc reviewer for various dermatology journals. Dr. Chen regularly speaks at local and national dermatology conferences. Prior to founding Central Connecticut Dermatology, Dr. Chen served as Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Before moving to Connecticut, Dr. Chen was on faculty at the Department of Dermatology at Boston University School of Medicine. She is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. In her free time, Dr. Chen enjoys spending time with family and friends. She loves traveling and good food with good company!
