About Alexis L. Parcells, MD
As a female plastic surgeon, I am passionate about advocating for women’s health and empowerment. My areas of specialty include aesthetic facial, breast and body surgery as well as reconstruction of defects resulting from skin cancer, burns, and trauma. I especially enjoy working with breast cancer patients, helping them to restore wholeness after lumpectomy or mastectomy through breast reconstruction. I believe every patient requires an individual approach to treatment, and for that reason I offer a variety of options for breast reconstruction. I have created a website, www.bravebras.org, that serves to educate breast cancer patients on their reconstructive options. Dr. Parcells received her bachelor of arts (B.A) degree from Georgetown University and her medical degree (M.D.) from St. George’s University. She completed her plastic surgery training at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (NJMS). She is board-eligible by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Parcells is currently a clinical instructor to medical students and residents through RWJ Barnabas Health. She has been recognized for her excellence in teaching with two NJMS Golden Apple nominations. She is also active volunteering for several breast cancer organizations including The Breasties, Minette’s Angels, and Fashion for the Pink Crusade. Dr. Parcells has a strong academic involvement in the plastic surgery community. She has authored several textbooks and professional journal articles. She has presented her original research at numerous national and international meetings, including Brussels, Paris, Madrid, San Francisco, Chicago, and New York City.
