About Albert Losken
Albert Losken, M.D., Hamm Professor of Surgery, is the Program Director of the Division of Plastic Surgery at Emory University where he has taught since 2002. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Losken specializes in reconstructive and aesthetic surgery with an emphasis on breast, body contouring and facial aesthetics. He has published well over 150 articles on various surgical topics, especially breast reconstruction techniques. In addition to writing numerous book chapters, Dr. Losken has edited three text books, including New Techniques in Partial Breast Reconstruction--The Oncoplastic Approach, and Advances in Abdominal Wall Reconstruction. He currently reviews several manuscripts; among them are: Aesthetic Surgery Journal, Annals of Plastic Surgery, and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal. His expertise has earned Dr. Losken invitations to speak at national and international conferences such as the Atlanta Breast Symposium, the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Breast Panel, and the International Conference on Plastic Surgery at the Red Sea and in Australia. Dr. Losken has garnered special recognition for his contributions to the field of plastic surgery: his peers voted him one of Atlanta’s Top Doctors, and he has been named Teacher of the Year at Emory three times, most recently in 2012. He is also an Honorary Clinical Tutor for the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.
