About Agustín Cornejo, MD
Dr. Agustín Cornejo is a highly trained plastic and reconstructive surgeon. He graduated near the top of his class from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara School of Medicine, where he co-founded the first Scientific Society of Medical Students and was granted the opportunity to participate in surgical research projects by the National Health Department. He then completed a five year general surgery residency at UT Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. During his general surgery training he received an award of recognition for his research endeavors as well as the Excellence in Teaching Award during his chief year. Dr. Cornejo continued his training at the prestigious Duke University Medical Center, where he completed three additional years of training alongside the country’s leading plastic and reconstructive surgeons. During his professional career, he has published several manuscripts related to reconstructive surgery and has participated in several medical missions throughout Latin America helping adults and children with congenital and traumatic deformities. Dr. Cornejo is fluent in both English and Spanish. He is passionate about the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery and feels honored to have the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of his patients.
