About Adekemi Akingboye, MD
Adekemi Akingboye, MD is a board-certified dermatologist. She joined The Dermatology Center after seven years practicing dermatology. Dr. Akingboye received her Bachelor of Science degree from State University of New York Stony Brook and her medical degree from SUNY Downstate. She completed her internship at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital in New York, NY and her residency at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. She received a faculty appointment in the Department of Dermatology at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, NY where she worked seeing patients and teaching. She has contributed to peer reviewed publications and has been honored by numerous professional organizations including the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Akingboye is a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, is a fellow for the American Academy of Dermatology, and a member of the Skin of Color Society. She has interest in skin of color, various types of alopecia (including central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia), acne, and psoriasis, and sees both adults and children. Dr. Akingboye also performs various medical and cosmetic procedures, including cortisone shots, excisions of skin cancers, and injection of various fillers and Botox for the treatment of wrinkles. Dr. Akingboye sees patients in our Bethesda office and offers early morning patient hours starting at 7 a.m.
